An Indian court has acquitted Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty of spreading profanity charges against her 15 times ago after a controversial kiss with Hollywood actor Richard Gere.
It may be recalled that in 2007, during an AIDS mindfulness program in Delhi, Richard Gere intimately kissed Shilpa Shetty on the impertinence and these kisses caused contestation.
The court said the allegations against her were" unwarranted"and that she had been the victim of another person's act against her will.
At the time, conservative Hindu groups called the incident an personality to Indian tradition.
Richard Gere apologized after the incident. He said he only wanted to show that kissing doesn't pose a threat of HIV.
Following the incident, the arrest leave of Richard Gere was abandoned by the Supreme Court of India.
The court had said that complaints were being lodged against the actor for" cheap fame".
The case has been circulating in India's judicial system for times, and a court has eventually dropped the charges against Shilpa Shetty last week.
Shilpa Shetty's legal platoon said it was illegal to condemn her for not defying the kiss at the moment.
