Sonakshi Sinha
Sonakshi Sinha (pronounced [soːnaːkʂi sɪnɦa]; born 2 June 1987) is an Indian actress and singer who works in Hindi films.[2] After working as a costume designer for independent films, she made her acting debut portraying Rajjo Pandey in the action-dramafilm Dabangg in 2010, which won her the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut.[3] She rose to prominence for playing the romantic interest of the male protagonists in the comedy film Rowdy Rathore (2012), the action film Son of Sardaar (2012) and the thriller filmHoliday: A Soldier Is Never Off Duty (2014), and for appearing in a variety of item numbers.
Sinha garnered critical acclaim for her portrayal of Pakhi Roy Chaudhary, a troubled woman suffering from tuberculosis in the period drama film Lootera (2013), for which she earned several accolades, including a nomination for the Filmfare Award for Best Actress,[4][5][6] as well as nominations for two Screen Awards and an International Indian Film Academy Award. Sinha went on to reprise the role of Rajjo in the Dabanggfranchise's next two installments, Dabangg 2(2012) and Dabangg 3 (2019) and appeared as Eka Gandhi in the science fiction filmMission Mangal (2019).[7]
Asides from acting, Sinha has ventured into singing, beginning with an appearance on the single "Let's Celebrate" which was featured in the film Tevar (2015). Her debut single, "Aaj Mood Ishqholic Hai" in December 15, and she has sung in a total of four films, which include the viral single "Rafta Rafta Medley", featured in the soundtrack of Yamla Pagla Deewana: Phir Se (2018).
